Model Description
Better known as the Transalp, the XL600V was Honda’s first true adventure bike, albeit a middleweight one, when introduced in 600cc form in 1987. Powered by a flexible, liquid-cooled V-twin engine derived from that of the Shadow cruiser, it proved a long-legged and versatile – if a littler underwhelming – tourer. It was uprated to 650cc, complete with a facelift, in 2001 then again to 700cc with another complete restyle, before being finally deleted in 2012. If you can stomach the looks, the latter ones are undoubtedly the best, but all were always more worthy and useful than exciting.
