DipTrace free version (non-profit lite) is a great way to get your feet wet with it. DipTrace is likely one of the easiest to make your own component libraries. If I can't find a part in a few minutes, I will just whip it together myself.

• Diptrace is a real pleasure to work with compared to other pcb cad programs. Drawing the schematic and layouting the pcb is easy. Missing parts can be build very fast and really easy. I was surprise how clear and straight the process is, if you never understood the process in other products, try this. But there are some drawback.

DipTrace - PCB design with easy to use manual route and autorouter. Schematic - creates schematic and exports netlist to PCB. ComEdit - pattern editor. SchemEdit - component editor. Draw Schematic symbols and attach patterns to them.
